Directorate of School Education, West Bengal organize State Level National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) 2018. This year NTSE exam will be held on 5th November 2017. Eligibility Criteria for State Level National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) 2018


Know more about the Eligibility Criteria for State Level National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) 2018 Scholarship Examination.
■ Students who are currently studying in class X on any school/madrasah under any State Board or Central Board are eligible for NTSE 2018 Scholarship.

To apply State Level National Talent Search Examination (NSE) 2018 candidates have to pass with at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/PH) on last final examination of class Nine (IX).

■ Students, who are currently studying at Open Distance Learning (ODL) under NIOS or West Bengal Council of Rabindra Open Schooling are also eligible for applying this Talent Search Examination. The age of the students must be below of 18 years (as on 1st July 2017).

The annual family income of the candidate does not exceed Rs. 1,50,000 (One lakh fifty thousand).

■ Students must have a bank account with her name. So that scholarship amount can be easily transferred to the bank account.

NTSE 2018 Online Application Process

The application process for State Level National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) 2018 will be done through Online. The last date of Online Application for NTSE 2018 is 31st August 2017. No application fee required to apply for State Level National Talent Search Examination 2018.

■ At first visit, https://scholarships.wbsed.gov.in website to apply for State Level National Talent Search Examination 2018.

■ Now click on the ‘New user register here‘ click on the home page. And then select the examination name, ‘State Level National Talent Search Examination 2018.‘.


■ On the next page, you have to fill some basic details about yourself. Candidate’ s must have an active email id and phone number to apply for this scholarship. Generate a password for access the page. After saving all the data, students will get a unique Application Number. Now you can log in to the scholarship portal by the help of Application id and Password.

■ After login to your account fill the next step of Application form by entering some information about your address, school address, bank account details, aadhaar number etc. Upload a scanned passport size photograph on this page. And then click on the ‘Save’ and ‘Lock’ button. Download the Institution verification Form and take print it out.

■ On this step, students have to upload the supporting scanned documents on the website. Upload the following documents -, Verification Certificate (2nd Page Only), Bank passbook front page, income certificate, Caste Certificate (if applicable), Physical Disability Certificate (if applicable).

■ After uploading all the documents click on the ‘Finalize Application‘ bottom. Your Application will be reviewed within few days and you will be informed through SMS or email.

Important Dates for NTSE 2018 Exam

■ Online Application started from 1st August 2017.
■ The Last Date of Online Application is 31st August 2017.
■ Admit Card for NTSE 2018 will available from last week of October 2017.
■ Date of NTSE 2018*Class Eight exam is 5th November 2017.

State Level National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) 2018 Question Pattern

Learn more about the question pattern, marks division and other important information about State Level National Talent Search Examination, 2018 for students studying in class X. There are three parts of this NTSE Exam. Part-I is Mental Ability Test, Part-II is Scholastic Aptitude Test (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics) and PART-III is Language Test (English / Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali).

Mental Ability Test : This Part-I question paper will contain 50 MCQ type questions and each question carries 1 mark. Total time allowed for this Part is 45 minutes (10:30 AM to 11:15 AM). There is no any Negative Marking for wrong attempts.

Scholastic Aptitude Test : On Part-II, questions will come from Mathematics (20 questions), Physics (13 questions), Chemistry (13 questions), Biology (14 questions), History (12 questions), Geography (12 questions), Political Science (8 questions) and Economics (8 questions) subjects. Total marks for this paper is 100 and time allowed 90 minutes (01:30 PM to 3:00 PM). There also no negative marking for the wrong attempt and all the questions are MCQ Type.

Language Test (English / Bengali / Hindi / Urdu / Nepali) : On this Language Test part, candidates have to choose any one of the languages from, English, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu and Nepali and have to answer 50 MCQ type questions of marks 50. Time allowed 45 minutes (12 O’ clock to 12:45 PM) for this Test.
