Eligibility Criteria for SVMCM Minority Scholarship

The eligibility criteria for Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means (SVMCM) Scholarship Scheme for Minorities 2018 is mentioned below. Students, who will fulfill all the eligibility guidelines, can apply for this scholarship.

1. Applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal and has continuing education in institute Situated in West Bengal.

2. Applicant must continue his/her study in an Educational institution of West Bengal after passing out in Current Year (2018) from any Board, Council or University in West Bengal.


3. Students must belong to Minority Community (Muslim / Christian / Sikh / Buddhist / Parsee & Jain).

4. The annual family income of the applicant not exceeding Rs. 2.5 lakhs (Certificate to be issued by an Officer not below the Rank of Joint BDO).

5. Students who are pursuing any course for Open University in Distance Mode, cannot apply for this scholarship.

6. The Academic Percentage Eligibility for each course given below.

Higher secondary Passed Madhyamik or equivalent exam with at least 75% marks.
Diploma (Polytechnic) 75% marks in Madhyamik/HS/Vocational or equivalent for first year Diploma (Polytechnic).
Graduation level Higher Secondary or equivalent. The aggregate (75%) will be calculated out of Best of five.
Post-Graduation Level
  • 53% marks in Honours subject at Graduation level.
  • 555 in Graduation level in case of Engineering students.
Kanyashree applicants (K-3) for Post- Graduation studies(M.Sc, M.Com and MA)
  • 45% Aggregate in Graduation level.
  • Kanyashree recipients with valid K2-ID pursuing P.G. courses in science, commerce and Arts stream in the year 2017 are eligible to apply.

SVMCM WBMDFC Scholarship Online Application Procedure

The eligible students can apply Online for WBMDFC Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship Scheme for Minorities. The complete application process is Online, so no need to send any hard copy documents to the authority. The step by step application process described below.

Step-1: The Online Application for WBMDFC Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship 2018 for Minority Students can be done from this svmcm.wbmdfc.co.in web portal.


Step-2: Now click on the ‘Fresh Student Registration‘ option and fill the Application Form with your Personal Details, Academic Details and save the Online Application for Form. After Successful Registration, you will get a Username and Password. This information will require at the time of Login so keep it carefully.

Step-3: Now add your Bank Account Details carefully and upload the following documents to the Scholarship Application Portal.

  1. Both side of the Mark sheet of the last examination.
  2. Admit card of Madhyamik or equivalent examination.
  3. Income certificate in the prescribed format.
  4. The first page of bank passbook mentioning clearly the A/C no. and IFSC details.
  5. Voter Id/Aadhaar card etc.
  6. Recent Photograph(size must between 100 to 120KB)

Step-4: After Successfully uploaded all the documents, Submit your Application form and then you will get an ‘Institute Verification Form‘ (click here to download) print it out and sign it by the Head of the Current Institute. After that, upload it to the website by login with your Username and Password.

Renewal Application Process for SVMCM WBMDFC Scholarship

Applicant should apply through online mode using Login Id and Password as used at the time of first application through the website www.svmcm.wbmdfc.co.in. The documents in the original mentioned below must be uploaded and submitted the same within one month from the date of admission in the next higher class due to promotion by passing in the first attempt.

In case of Semester mode – Mark sheet of 1st Semester and 2nd Semester for 2nd-year renewal; 3rd Semester and 4th Semester for 3rd renewal in U.G. and mark sheet of 1st Semester and 2nd Semester for 2nd-year renewal in case of P.G. All Semester Examinations need to be cleared in the first attempt).


Renewal cases (applicable only at a particular level of study) will be sanctioned subject to good academic performance (Minimum 60% marks should be obtained from higher secondary Level to Undergraduate and Diploma Level at the promotional examination) and 50% marks at Post Graduate Level).

    • Hello Mampi, the SVMCM Scholarship renewal last date not published till now on the official website, but we can expect the renewal application will continue upto June 2019.

    • Hello Rabiul, you must received two copies – Applicant’s copy and HOI copy. Go to your Head of the Institute, your HOI will sign Applicant copy and will take the HOI copy. Now upload the Scanned Applicant copy to the website after login.
