Visit WB e-District Portal
At the first visit the official website of West Bengal e-District Portal, edistrict.wb.gov.in to apply for BDO Income Certificate Online, Domicile Certificate from SDO / DM.
Citizen Registration & Login
Now Click on the Citizen Registration link on the Home Page. Then register yourself on WB e-District portal with some basic details like Name, Address, Mobile number and Email address. You have to create a Username and Password for login on this WB e-District portal. Now login with your Username and Password.
Select Certificate Type
After Successful Registration, visit the West Bengal e-District Portal and Login with your Username & Password. Now Click on the ‘Certificates‘ option and select Income Certificate or Local Residence (Domicile) Certificate for which you want to apply.
Fill the Basic Details
Now fill the complete Online Application Form for the Income or Residential certificate. The Application form contains some Basic information (Name, Date of Birth Aadhaar Number, Mobile number, Email & Gender) and Present Address Details. Click Save & Next after filling the form.
Update Income Info and Residential Info
On this step, the applicant has to give brief information about his/her Annual Family Income, Income Year (for Income Certificate) and a few other details.
You have to provide your Permanent address with Village / City, District, Police Station, Post Office, Sub-Division, PIN code, Duration of Stay in West Bengal and Reason for Application (for Residential Certificate).
Upload Scanned Documents
Now you have to upload Supporting documents for BDO Income Certificate Online Application and Local Residence (Domicile) Certificate Online Application. Scann the original documents in JPEG/PDF format within 500kb and upload on the e-District portal. The following documents will require.
- Identity Proof – Residential certificate issued by SDO, Electronic, Photo Identity Card (EPIC), Passport, Driving License, Ration Card, Govt ID Card, Defence ID Card, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card.
- Photograph – Self Photograph
- Income Proof – Salary Certificate, IT return Certificate, Income proof from Gram Pradhan, Income Proof from Municipality Councillor.
- Residential Proof – Photocopy of Land Deed, Khatiyan, Rent Receipt Copy, Documentary Evidence of Residential Land, Residential Certificate issued by a recognised authority.
- Birth Proof – Secondary Admit Card or Certificate, PAN Card, Birth Certificate.
- Other Documents – If want to upload any other documents, then use this option.
View the Application
After uploading all the required documents, you can save it and then view your complete Application Details for Income Certificate / Residential Certificate. If there is anything wrong, you can edit the application form or Supportive documents from this page. If everything is okay then click on the Submit button for final submit the application.
When the application is successfully submitted, the applicant receives an acknowledgement. This
contains the application summary and the contact details of the person to be contacted with for further queries. This Acknowledgement Receipt also contains a unique AIN number, by which you can track your application status.

Approval Process of Online Income & Residential Certificate
The Approval process of Income Certificate and Domicile Certificate contorll by BDO, SDO, ADM and Enquiry Officer (EO). The approval process is slightly different for Rural and Urban areas applicants.
Approval for Rural Applications
At the first level, the application form send to the associate BDO for verification, if everything is alright, then BDO forwards the application to EO for the offline query. If EO approves the application, then EO updates the status in the system and forwards the application to respective BDO. Now BDO will issue a Digitally Signed Certificate.
Approval for Urban Applications
At the first level, the application form send to associate SDO for verification. if everything is alright, then SDO forwards the application to EO for the offline query. Online Income Certificate & Residentail Certificate Download
The applicant can check the BDO Income Certificate Online Application & Residential Certificate Application using the AIN Number on the WB e-District website. When the Application Status show Application Approved you can download the Digital Signed certificate in PDF format.
Generally, it will take 7 to 10 days to get an Income or Residential Certificate online using e district portal. The certificate will valid up to 6 months from the date of issue. You can download the certificate and use it for your scholarships, jobs application.
