GNM Nursing Colleges in West Bengal

The full form of GNM is General Nursing and Midwifery. After completing higher secondary courses male and female students can apply for GNM Nursing at various Government and Private institutions. Currently, in West Bengal total 145 GNM Nursing School are available as per West Bengal Nursing Council.

Due to the higher demand of staff nurses, candidates will get job on government and Private Hospital after completing their GNM Nursing course. So this force is very much popular among Students.

Eligibility for GNM Nursing Course

  • The minimum education qualification required is 12th pass for apply GNM Nursing course.
  • Arts, Science and Commerce students apply for this course.
  • The minimum age for this course is 17th years and the maximum is 35th years.
  • On a few hospitals, the male candidate also apply for male GNM nursing course.

GNM Nursing Course Details

GNM Nursing is a 3½ year Course. In the first 3 years, students will improve their academic knowledge, seat Exams and last 6 months is an internship programme. After that students will receive a valid registration certificate form West Bengal Nursing Council.

Course Fees for GNM Nursing

The courses for GNM Nursing training course is very low on the government Training Schools. But it is very much higher on Private Training schools.

Government CollegesRs. 12 per Month as Tuition Fees + Hostel Charge Rs. 3000 per month (approx).
Private CollegesApprox Rs. 5 lakh for the complete course.

Job Scope & Availability

After completing the GNM Nursing Training Course, you can join as a staff nurse on any private hospital with a salary of approx Rs. 33,000 per month.

When a Government recruitment notice will publish you can apply there, on the basis of year academic qualification you will get a job as a staff nurse in a government hospital. The salary of a WB government GNM staff nurse is approx Rs. 33,000 per month.

Admission on GNM Nursing Training Course

The admission to the West Bengal GNM Nursing training course will start from May to June every year. Admission to the government and Private nursing Training School will be done through WBJEE GNM Entrance Examinations.

    • এখন কোনো সমস্যা হবে না। কিন্তু তুমি যখন কলেজে ভর্তির জন্য documents verification এর জন্য যাবে, তখন তোমাকে অবশ্যই কাস্ট সার্টিফিকেট দেখতে হবে, তা না হলে তোমার এডমিশন বাতিল হতে পারে।

    • Hello Sathi, probably there is no option available to apply again for the WBJEE GNM ANM or B.Sc Nursing course 2022. The online application date already over. You cannot apply now.

    • Hello Priyanka, admission on all the Government and Private GNM Nursing institutions will be done through single entrance exam conducted by WBJEE. The application data of WBJEE GNM/ANM for this year already over.

      • But where I have gone to form fill up today ….the uncle of that cafe have been pending my form because he don’t have any correct information about it. Ha has said that wbnc .have not been given any proper information about choosing the nursing school..He has given me two phone numbers of the nursing secretary …I will call tomorrow those numbers & will ask the correct information about this matter…otherwise if they will cancel the form for this matter ;we will not anything to do for it except disappointed..

    • PwD means ‘Person with Disability’. Students, who are Physically challenged, can submit this certificate.
